Confraternity of Santissima Annunziata

Address: Via Urbano Rattazzi, 7, 14015 San Damiano d'Asti AT, Italia

In the sixteenth century the Disciplinati della Santissima Annunziata obtained permission to build their church next to the parish church, so that the original entrance to the west had to be closed to open another one to the south.

The Confraternity of the Santissima Annunziata has the interior with three naves and six chapels, open almost exclusively on the northern side.

Note the eighteenth-century Chapel of the Immacolata Concezione, frescoed with a sumptuous fake architecture in shades of red, green and lilac by the brothers Pietro Antonio and Giovanni Pietro Pozzo around the early forties of the twentieth century, perhaps concurrently with the decoration in the former church of San Giuseppe.
